20th Annual Healthcare Conference
BRIDGEWATER, NJ (November 24, 2008) Aegerion Pharmaceuticals, Inc., a biopharmaceutical
company focused on the treatment of cardiovascular and metabolic disease, today
announced that Will Lewis, the Company’s Co-Founder and Chief Financial Officer and
William Sasiela, Ph.D, the Company’s Chief Medical Officer, will present at the Piper
Jaffray 20th Annual Healthcare Conference at The Palace Hotel in New York on Tuesday,
December 2, 2008 at 12:10 p.m. Eastern Time.
Mr. Lewis and Dr. Sasiela will provide an overview of the Company and its priority
development program, including top-line data from three separate recently concluded
Phase II trials involving its lead cholesterol management compound, AEGR-733, which is
a microsomal triglyceride transfer protein (MTP) inhibitor.
About AEGR-733
AEGR-733 is a novel proprietary MTP-inhibitor under development for the
treatment of dyslipidemia (abnormal lipid levels in the bloodstream). Inhibiting
the MTP enzyme reduces blood levels of cholesterol and triglyceride by limiting the
production of lipoproteins from the intestine and liver.
