Aegerion Pharmaceuticals, Inc. to Present at the 27th
Annual J.P.
Morgan Healthcare Conference
BRIDGEWATER, NJ
(December 18, 2008) — Aegerion Pharmaceuticals,
Inc., a biopharmaceutical company focused on the treatment of
cardiovascular and metabolic disease, today announced
that Will Lewis, the Company’s Co-Founder and Chief Financial
Officer and William J. Sasiela, Ph.D, the Company’s Chief
Medical Officer, will present at the 27th Annual
J.P. Morgan Healthcare Conference at the Westin St. Francis
Hotel in San Francisco on Wednesday, January 14, 2009 at 3:00
p.m. Pacific Time.
Mr. Lewis and Dr. Sasiela will
provide an overview of the Company, its lead cholesterol
management compound, AEGR-733, which is a microsomal
triglyceride transfer protein (MTP) inhibitor and corporate
development strategy for 2009.
About AEGR-733
AEGR-733 is a novel proprietary MTP-inhibitor under
development for the treatment of dyslipidemia (abnormal lipid
levels in the bloodstream). Inhibiting the MTP enzyme reduces
blood levels of cholesterol and triglyceride by limiting the
production of lipoproteins from the intestine and liver.
